AI: Friend or Foe?

My son and I love the movie Ron’s Gone Wrong. We have watched it over and over because the many oopsie-daisies of a slightly less-than-perfect robot are quite amusing. For instance, Ron tends to learn about his world by determining how much effort it takes to destroy items via burning, melting, or dismembering them. While comical, I am pretty sure I would not want this robot in charge of any areas of my life!  I certainly would not let him take control of any aspects of my business, lest I find my laptop in flames in the fire pit.

When our session was over, I walked her and her mom to the waiting room like I always do and told them I would see them next week. I did not realize that was the last time I would see my sweet girl.

When I got the text that she had passed, it was ea

The Power of Yes

February 22, 2025

When I am not writing or practicing occupational therapy, I am also the director of a therapeutic dance program for special needs children. I’ve always loved dance, and it was such a thrill when I discovered I was able to utilize my passion for dance in conjunction with occupational therapy.

This dance program serves a variety of needs, ranging from physical disabilities to sensory challenges to speech difficulties. The main goal is to allow children to engage in age-appropriate leisure activities with therapeutic strategies in place to ensure a successful experience. This week I was forced to re-evaluate what success looks like in an adapted dance program

Since the spring season started in January, there has been a new dancer who has joined that has struggled more than
