My son and I love the movie Ron’s Gone Wrong. We have watched it over and over because the many oopsie-daisies of a slightly less-than-perfect robot are quite amusing. For instance, Ron tends to learn about his world by determining how much effort it takes to destroy items via burning, melting, or dismembering them. While comical, I am pretty sure I would not want this robot in charge of any areas of my life! I certainly would not let him take control of any aspects of my business, lest I find my laptop in flames in the fire pit.
While this movie is full of absurdities, it has a pretty strong take-home message: our world still desperately needs the human element despite the many advancements of technology. This theme rings true for those of us in the world of content writing. AI may be a useful tool for producing content, but it lacks the human experience that allows for emotional connection.
AI also has many other shortcomings regarding production of content. AI has been known to completely fabricate information from expert quotes to research data and statistics. Wouldn’t that be embarrassing to post a blog that is centered on false data or that quotes a non-existent expert? Thus, human editing is still a must for content that is created via AI.
In addition to that, did you know that content that is produced solely by AI cannot be copyrighted? If your company is using AI to create content, it can be easily taken and used by someone else without any consequences.
Never fear! This area is where Jessica Neves Health Writing can help! I have added a new service to my health writing business: AI content auditing! You can send me your AI-created content, and I will fact-check, edit for tone, and even re-write elements that are not as engaging or accurate as they could be.
